Jasper Dankers and Peter Sluyter journals, 1679-1683.

Journals for two trips, 1679-1681, 1683, made by Dankers (or Dankaerts) and Sluyter (1645-1722), to New Netherland and other American colonies. Members of Labadist sect, they traveled under the names of J. Schildres and P. Vorstman, looking for land to set up a colony. Account of the first trip was translated by Henry C. Murphy as "Journal of a Voyage to New York and Several of the American Colonies," published in LONG ISLAND HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEMOIRS, v. 1, 1867.
